Packers hold off Panthers to stay on track for 1st-round bye
by Jack Browne from on (#5BW97)
The Green Bay Packers took a big step toward securing the NFC's No. 1 seed and a first-round bye with a 24-16 victory Saturday over the Carolina Panthers.
The Packers came out hot, taking a 21-3 lead into halftime. But Aaron Rodgers and Co. were stifled by Carolina's defense in the second half and survived a late rally from the NFC South club to earn its 11th win of the season.
More to come.
