Former Cincinnati Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis interviewed with the Houston Texans for their vacant head coaching job, the team announced Wednesday.

Lewis, who is currently part of the staff at Arizona State, will likely draw interest from other NFL clubs as well, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

The former Cincinnati sideline boss comes with 16 years of experience as a head coach but has been out of the NFL since the conclusion of the 2018 season after he was fired.

Lewis spent his entire head coaching career with the Bengals, roaming the sideline from 2003-18 while compiling a 131-122-3 record. Cincinnati made the postseason on seven occasions during his tenure but was unable to win a playoff game under Lewis.

Cincinnati terminated Lewis after recording three consecutive seasons with a losing record. The 62-year-old then headed to the collegiate ranks, serving as a special advisor for Arizona State in 2019 before being a co-defensive coordinator in 2020.
