Logging into XFCE not functioning anymore, other desktop environments are fine
by PasBern from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5C2ZZ)
Hello all,
on my recently upgrade Fedora 33 I switched from XFCE to Gnome Shell in order to change the my system language (not locales, I did that on the commmand line, rather the desktop environments language, couldn't find this option under XFCE). Now I cannot login back to the XFCE desktop environment. The login manager accepts my password, goes dark for a few seconds and then reverts back to the login screen. I tried it with other desktop environments, like KDE, LXDE, Fluxbox and Enlightenment. There I do not face this problem.
Do you have an idea how I can troubleshoot this? Maybe there is better way than simply reinstall the entire XFCE desktop environment and hope that this will fix it.
Many thanks for your ideas
I have also posted this question on the dedicated Fedora forum, waiting for an answer
