Stafford suffers ankle injury in loss to Bucs
Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford suffered an ankle injury in the first quarter of Saturday's 47-7 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Stafford was ruled out of the game at the start of the second half. Chase Daniel and David Blough replaced him for the rest of the contest.
Daniel completed 13 of 18 pass attempts for 86 yards in his relief appearance, while Blough threw for 49 yards and one interception.
Stafford has been playing through rib and thumb injuries of late, despite Detroit already being eliminated from playoff contention.
Stafford has thrown for 3,774 yards and 23 touchdowns against nine interceptions over 14 games this season. He hit on two passes for 17 yards before exiting on Saturday.
Daniel appeared in three games this season prior to Week 16. Entering Saturday he had completed 16 of 25 passes for 178 yards and one touchdown against two interceptions this campaign.
