Hamilton police are investigating a shooting in the east end on Friday night.

Police were called to the area of Roxborough Avenue and Reid Avenue North around 7:30 p.m. on Christmas for reports of shots fired.

There were no injuries.

Det. Const. Sam Khalil said the suspect or suspects fired shots at a specific home before fleeing. No one has been arrested.

Police believe the incident was targeted.

The shooting was the third police responded to on Christmas Day. The other two occurred in short succession around 10:10 a.m. in north Hamilton. One person was arrested.

It also marks the fourth shooting in east Hamilton in nearly as many days.

On Dec. 21, police responded to three overnight shootings in the area, including one that left a 19-year-old man with non-life threatening injuries.

It is unclear if any one of the three shootings are related, police said. No one has been arrested and no suspect or vehicle description has been released.

One shooting, the first, occurred in the area of Roxborough and Reid.

Khalil could not confirm whether the home targeted in Friday night's shooting is the same home targeted on Dec. 21.

The investigation remains ongoing, Khalil said.
