PC-speaker crackling after kernel upgrade to 5.10.3

I thought I would start a new thread about this issue. I mentioned this in the KDE-plasma thread, but, I don't think it's a desktop issue as it is happening on KDE-plasma, XFCE 4.16, and other desktops too.
The PC starts up normally without issue using the new 5.10.3 kernel. When I log-in to my desktop (either KDE-plasma or XFCE 4.16) there is a slight crackling sound coming from the PC-speaker which goes away after a few seconds.
This is a new occurrence which started after the kernel upgrade to 5.10.3.
