A second employee at a No Frills grocery store on the Hamilton Mountain has tested positive for COVID-19, according to the store's parent company.

Loblaws was notified Wednesday that a staff member at Frank's No Frills at 675 Rymal Rd. E. in Hamilton tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19," according to a listing on their online COVID-19 case tracker.

The last day the employee worked was Dec. 26.

The new case follows an employee previously testing positive on Dec. 24. Their last shift was on Dec. 17.

It's unclear how many staff members were affected by the case or if any were recommended to self-isolate as a precaution. The database does not include any details about where in the store the employee worked or the times of their last shift.

The new case comes as 14 workers at Franco's No Frills on Queenston Road tested positive for the virus as of Wednesday. A COVID-19 outbreak was declared at the east Hamilton grocery store on Dec. 18 when eight employees tested positive.

A number of COVID-19 cases have also been found recently in workers at Shoppers Drug Mart, Fortinos, Food Basics, Metro and Wholesale Club locations across the city.
