Slackware 14.2 - USB Type-C not working with 5.10.x kernel

hey folks,

I have a "LaCie 2TB Rugged USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C External Hard Drive"
Depending on the available connections on your computer it contains two cables a person can use:
- USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C to Type-C cable
- USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-C to Type-A cable

On the the 5.4.x kernel I can connect just fine with the Type-C to Type-C cable.

Once I switched to the 5.10.2 or 5.10.3 kernels this no longer works w/ the Type-C to Type-C cable.
I receive no output from the any logs regarding the device.
I've checked all the main logs /var/log/dmesg, /var/log/messages, /var/log/syslog and a few others inside of /var/log/*.

I checked out my listed modules with 'lsmod'. I believe 'uas' and 'usb_storage' are needed to make it work.
Either way...those are all loaded up properly.

Even 'lsblk' and 'df -Th' report nothing.
It's simply not recognized.

In the meantime...to solve I just use the Type-C to Type-A cable.
It would be cool to simply use the Type-C to Type-C connector.

This is strange to me.
Is anyone else having this issue w/ a Type-C connector or am I missing something ??

I'm running slackware v14.2

thanx in advance to any guidance someone can give.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=wpqfA91-Pfw:f59779i-MaQ:F7zBnMy latest?i=wpqfA91-Pfw:f59779i-MaQ:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=wpqfA91-Pfw:f59779i-MaQ:gIN9vFwwpqfA91-Pfw
