Hamilton police investigate targeted shooting on the Mountain
Hamilton police are investigating a targeted shooting on the rural Mountain on Wednesday evening.
Police say officers responded to reports of shots fired on Dec. 30 at approximately 8 p.m. in the area of Highway 6 and Leeming Road, south of Mount Hope.
Information from witnesses revealed that a suspect or suspects discharged multiple rounds from a firearm before fleeing the area, possibly in a vehicle," police say.
No injuries were reported.
Police are treating this as a targeted incident, though the motive remains unclear.
It was definitely isolated to an address," police spokesperson Const. Krista-Lee Ernst told The Spectator.
Police are asking residents in the area to check surveillance camera footage for any suspicious activity.
