[SOLVED] Unable to boot to UEFI mode from Slackware 14.2 USB media
by gvajpai from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5CC2G)
Hello Everyone,
I obtained latest slackware 14.2 media from official website, created a bootable USB by using dd command.
The drive can't boot in UEFI mode, however when I enable legacy BIOS mode, it works.
Tried it on my Lenovo Ideapad 330S and Thinkpad E14.
Please see output of partition table from fdisk utility:
Code:Disk /dev/sda: 3.73 GiB, 4009754624 bytes, 7831552 sectors
Disk model: DataTraveler 109
Units: sectors of 1 * 512 = 512 bytes
Sector size (logical/physical): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
I/O size (minimum/optimal): 512 bytes / 512 bytes
Disklabel type: dos
Disk identifier: 0x6ce9a639
Device Boot Start End Sectors Size Id Type
/dev/sda1 * 0 5496831 5496832 2.6G 17 Hidden HPFS/NTFSPlease advise what I might be missing here. I need to install in UEFI mode.
