Hamilton police investigating ‘sudden death’ near Eastport Drive
Hamilton police say they are investigating a sudden death" in the area of Eastport Drive and Pier 26.
In a tweet Monday afternoon, police said a number of roads have been closed as they investigate. That includes Eastport Drive from the Pier 26 Gateway and to the QEW ramp.
In an email to The Spectator, Const. Jerome Stewart said police have not determined whether or not the death is suspicious as it is very early in the investigation."
Once detectives know more about what we are dealing with, clarification will be provided," said Stewart.
A member of a communications construction crew at the scene told The Spectator he found the body in the bay near stacks of salt. There were responders at the scene outfitted with diving gear.
