Xfce + openbox = weird behaviour
by fulalas from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5CDJG)
I'm trying to use openbox on Xfce because I noticed it draws the windows a bit faster than xfwm4. But there are some annoying things that I couldn't fix. It seems to happen on any distro, but I've been testing on Lubuntu 20.10 (all default, except for installing nvidia official drivers and audacious player):
1- if you open some files from the desktop (only from the desktop!), let's say an image, the image viewer (doesn't matter which one) window opens, its title bar blinks 4 times and it lost focus. I wish it could just open and stay in focus, like xfwm4 does or even openbox on LXDE/LXQt does.
2- same case above, but before everything you hit 'show desktop' (usually win+d), then the new window will open minimized, which, again, is not like how xfwm4 behaves.
In both cases, if instead of hitting Enter or double clicking the file on the desktop you then right click and select open, it behaves just like how I expect.
There are 2 other things very specific to my machine, so I understand it's hard to replicate:
1- YouTube videos in fullscreen have a grey line at the top.
2- Audacious player using Winamp skin gets its main window detached from the playlist very often.
Thanks in advance!
