Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has some advice for young NFL players: Save your money.

Kelce revealed on the "Club Shay Shay" podcast with Shannon Sharpe that he spent his entire rookie contract, and the six-time Pro Bowler cautioned others not to follow in his footsteps.

"I spent it all, Shannon. I should've been on the '30 for 30: Broke,'" he said. "... All the young guys in the league, all the guys that have the opportunity to get that big first check from the NFL - save it, man.

"Find a financial advisor you trust that's gonna do right with your money, because I was searching around for cart deals after my first year trying to just pay rent."

Kelce's first big purchases included a pair of self-lacing Nike Mag sneakers - a replica of the shoe featured in "Back to the Future: Part II" - and a Rolex watch.

"Man, I was walking in this empty apartment with some Marty McFlys on and a Rolex," he said. "I felt like the coolest guy in the world, man."

Kelce's financial situation is looking much better these days. He signed a reported four-year, $57.25-million extension in 2020 that included $28 million in guaranteed money.
