COVID-19 outbreak declared at Hamilton Paramedic Service site
A Hamilton Paramedic Service base is in outbreak after three employees tested positive for COVID-19.
A Tuesday release from paramedics and the city states the employees worked at the Limeridge Base between Dec. 28 and Jan. 1. All are now self-isolating.
Although the employees followed all proper usage for personal protective equipment (PPE) and there is not believed to be any unprotected contact with the public, the city is advising residents out of an abundance of caution," the release states.
Public health is now conducting contact tracing and will be in touch with anyone who is considered a close contact."
The outbreak was declared late Monday, but is not yet posted on public health's website.
The release states the Limeridge Base location will be fully cleaned. No interruption to service or operations are expected.
The city extends best wishes to the employees for a speedy recovery," the release states.
