Screen goes blank
by zealbert from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5CF0B)
Hello,
My screen suddenly goes blank; it has a pink or purple hue, but it is blank. Sometimes there are multicolored horizontal lines over the entire screen, jumping fast for a few seconds. Then it eventually goes black. The computer is still running. None of the keys I tried allows the normal desktop to come back. I have to shut the computer down manually. If I try to reboot right away, I just get a black screen, even if I try "delete" to go into bios. If I wait a couple of hours, it boots up normally, but the same thing happens eventually. I looked at the temperatures/fans in bios, they seem fine.
I am running Mint 20 Ulyana, 64 bit. Graphics is: Mesa DRI Intel HD Graphics 4000 (IVB GT2).
I checked the monitor and cable, they are fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
