Newbe - Linux Filesystem Structure Training

Hi all,
I am new to the Linux operating system, having worked with Windows since version 2 - yes, I am that old.
I am running the Ubuntu distribution of Linux. Having trouble finding my around and muddling through the OP SYS structure. Can anyone point me in the direction of training- internet or books on the system structure? I developed apps for the Windows platform years ago and would like to get back into the game with Java. But, need to know how the Linux system works first.
