qt5 binaries

In slakware current, the qt5 binaries have all the suffix "-qt5" (qmake-qt5, rcc-qt5), and some slackbuilds have to be modified for thid reason.
Does it come from the time when qt5 did coexist with qt4 ?
Is it still necessary ?
