Former Washington Football Team quarterback Dwayne Haskins is set to visit the Carolina Panthers on Monday, sources told NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Haskins' trip to Carolina will mark his first free-agent visit since Washington waived him on Dec. 28, the day after he was benched during a game against the Panthers.

A first-round pick in the 2019 draft, Haskins fell down Washington's depth chart as the season progressed. He began the year as the club's starting signal-caller but was benched after four games. Haskins received two more starts down the stretch in place of the injured Alex Smith but was cut due to performance and off-field issues. The former Ohio State product has thrown more interceptions (14) than touchdowns (12) since entering the NFL.

Carolina's interest in the 23-year-old could help bolster the team's quarterback play after a rocky 2020 campaign for Teddy Bridgewater and Co. Bridgewater started 15 games over the season, throwing for 3,733 passing yards and 15 passing touchdowns against 11 interceptions.

Panthers head coach Matt Rhule warned Bridgewater earlier this week that the QB will need to have a terrific offseason, according to ESPN's David Newton.

Bridgewater signed a three-year, $63-million deal with the Panthers heading into the campaign. He carries a $23-million cap hit for 2021 but can be cut after next season for just a $5-million dead cap hit, per Spotrac.
