Health Canada has issued a recall for some pots sold in Canada after at least three people were injured.

The recall involves all sizes of the Alpha and Sigma Pots with a black latch and no screw. These pots were sold in 1.2, 1.9, 2.7-and 3.7-litre sizes and are primarily used for cooking while camping, the agency said in the recall warning.

The Alpha pots are a matte grey and the Sigma pots are polished stainless steel and black. The pots have Sea to Summit" written on the front, along with the pot size.

The Alpha pots state Hard Anodised Compact Cooking System" below the name and size. The Sigma pots state Premium Stainless Steel Compact Cooking System."

Handle usage guidelines and warnings are also written on the side of the pot, Health Canada said.

Only pots with a black latch that do not have a screw are part of this recall. The pots were sold individually and as part of camping cookware sets, according to the warning.

If the latch disengages, it may release the handle from the pot causing the pot to become unstable and posing a burn or scald hazard," Health Canada said.

As of Wednesday, the company, Sea to Summit North America, LLC, has received three reports of scald/burn injuries in Canada.

In the United States, the company has received 10 reports of the latch disengaging, with no reported injuries.

The company reported that 2,050 units of the affected products were sold in Canada between January 2019 and November 2020 and 16,208 were sold in the United States.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled products and contact Sea to Summit for a latch repair kit," Health Canada said.

The company can be contacted at at 1-888-201-4977.
