Tartube

Hello everyone
I'm a new linux user for about 2 months now. Everything is starting to make sense for me, however I have just spent a day and a half trying to get tartube to work. I have installed it and ffmpeg and youtube_dl. Selected youtube_dl as the downloader, so everything should go to plan - right? Well I get this error when I launch tartube at the command line:
essenz@essenz:$ tartube
(tartube:9411): Gdk-CRITICAL **: 14:44:54.405: gdk_window_thaw_toplevel_updates: assertion 'window->update_and_descendants_freeze_count > 0' failed
I should see something like this:
essenz@essenz:$ tartube
EXISTS: /home/essenz/tartube-data
IS DIR: /home/essenz/tartube-data
EXISTS: /home/essenz/tartube-data/.backups
IS DIR: /home/essenz/tartube-data/.backups
Obviously nothing happens when I try to download.
Is there anyone here that could point me in the right direction, thank you in advance.
