One woman dead in Brantford house fire

The Office of the Fire Marshal has been called to investigate a house fire in Brantford mid-Saturday which left one woman dead.
Emergency crews responded to a home on White Owl Crescent, just off Viscount Road, at approximately 11:15 a.m. for reports of a house fire.
Firefighters located and extricated a woman from the home. She later died.
The origin, cause and circumstances of the blaze are unknown, said OFM spokesperson Kristy Denette.
Brantford police said its major crime unit is investigating and a scene remains held.
