Two WiFi networks with the same name - cannot connect to the one that works on Sparky Linux GE

Hello!

I am using Sparky Linux Gamer Edition (Debian-based distro). I am living in a long term AirBnB type of setup where there is a WiFi network called BELL485. After some new tenants moved in, someone came in to install a new router to provide more internet for the people. After this happened, a new WiFi network appeared on all of my devices called BELL485-5 with the same password as the old one. I had to switch to this new network as the old one could no longer connect to the internet.

On Sparky Linux, on the other hand, upon clicking on the Network Manager applet, there was a sub-menu where I could select either 1 or 2. When I selected 2 and re-entered the password, I could connect to the internet. The next day, however, my computer was unplugged without being properly shut down and I could no longer connect to the Internet via either BELL485 1 or 2.

I deleted all of the networks from network manager, but then I could not even have access to sub-menu where I could select 1 or 2.

I used the command line tool for netowkr manager (nmcli) to scan the avliable WiFi networks. I was able to see two BELL485 networks, but even if I tried to connect to the correct BELL485 network using the BSSID, either via command line, or by editing the netork connection in the GUI, it always switched to the incorrect network with the same name, which has a stronger signal stength.

Any leads would be appreciated!!

PS: The computer is an old Acer Aspire desktop with a StarTeck usb WiFi dongle.latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=EnDk9Rsp2-w:NpgF6eQhdvw:F7zBnMy latest?i=EnDk9Rsp2-w:NpgF6eQhdvw:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=EnDk9Rsp2-w:NpgF6eQhdvw:gIN9vFwEnDk9Rsp2-w
