SSH Connection from MacOS to CentOS VM Setup
by JimInVegas from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5D0AA)
I'm using MacOS 11.1 (Big Sur) and VirtualBox 6.1. I have a new install of CentOS 7 in VB and I'm trying to setup an SSH connection between the Mac and the CentOS server. I've followed the directions in this article: https://support.hostway.com/hc/en-us...c-OS-X-Clients
When I try to make a connection I'm prompted for my password on the CentOS VM, and I'm sure I'm typing the correct password, but every time, I get the error "Permission denied, please try again". Is there a file on the CentOS server that I have to modify to allow my Mac or my MacOS User ID to access the CentOS VM?
Setting up an SSH connection is often described as an "easy process", so there must be something very basic that I'm missing.
Any help is appreciated.
Jim
