The NFL announced its eight-member officiating crew for Super Bowl LV on Tuesday.

Down judge Sarah Thomas will make history as the first woman ever to officiate a Super Bowl.

"Sarah Thomas has made history again as the first female Super Bowl official," said Troy Vincent Sr., the NFL's executive vice president of football operations. "Her elite performance and commitment to excellence has earned her the right to officiate the Super Bowl. Congratulations to Sarah on this well-deserved honor."

Thomas will join Carl Cheffers, Fred Bryan, Rusty Baynes, James Coleman, Eugene Hall, and Dino Paganelli in overseeing the game. Mike Wimmer will serve as replay official.

The on-field officiating crew boasts a combined 88 years of NFL experience, including 77 combined playoff game assignments.

Super Bowl LV is scheduled for Feb. 7 at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.
