It appears the Pittsburgh Steelers haven't officially decided on a new offensive coordinator just yet.

Former Cleveland Browns head coach Hue Jackson interviewed with the Steelers earlier this week for its OC position, a league source told ESPN's Dianna Russini.

The news comes after reports surfaced last week that Pittsburgh promoted quarterbacks coach Matt Canada. However, Gerry Dulac of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported days later the move wasn't finalized.

The Steelers haven't announced any hiring for its vacant offensive coordinator job. The club parted ways with Randy Fichtner following its playoff loss to the Browns.

Jackson has been away from the NFL for the last two years. Following a tumultuous stint in Cleveland, he served as a special assistant to the head coach with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2018.

Pittsburgh is also looking to interview Los Angeles Chargers quarterbacks coach Pep Hamilton, a source told former ESPN reporter Josina Anderson. Hamilton joined the Chargers ahead of the 2020 season and oversaw Justin Herbert's development.

The Steelers hired Canada in the last offseason. He previously logged extensive experience working with college offenses, serving as an offensive coordinator with Maryland, LSU, and Pittsburgh.
