NFL bans draft prospects from visiting team facilities

The NFL has prohibited in-person visits at team facilities for incoming draft prospects due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, the league announced through a memo obtained by NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.

A draft-eligible player caught at a team facility would leave the club vulnerable to punishment under the anti-tampering policy.

The restrictions set by the NFL are just the latest changes to the upcoming offseason in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The memo also states all team personnel can only time, test, interview, or conduct a physical with a prospect at their pro day or at an All-Star Game, such as the Senior Bowl.

Teams are allowed to send up to a maximum of three members of personnel to a pro day.

In-person interviews with prospects are also prohibited unless conducted at an All-Star Game or pro day. Teams will be able to hold virtual interviews with potential draftees via telephone or on a video call. Up to five one-hour video calls can be conducted with a player.

The league recently scrapped the traditional format of the combine, moving in-person workouts to each player's pro day.
