did changing computer cause drag problem in my 16.04?

last year I changed my 32 bit with a 64 bit (refurbished) computer and did not
notice a difference til now. When reading some help tips talking about problems
with compatability. I have some videos in folders on my screen which I used to
put on dvd with no problem. Now I can drag a video to k3b but it won't drop. It
used to do it that way. Not now. Could there be a connection? I've asked a couple of people and drawn a blank. I'm perplexed. If there is would I have to
make some changes? And I thought computers knew everything.
