Oilers place Ennis on waivers
The Edmonton Oilers placed forward Tyler Ennis on waivers, the team announced Monday.
Ennis went pointless in four games to start the season while averaging 9:47 of ice time per contest. His underlying numbers were poor as well as the Oilers controlled just 38% of the shot attempts and 31.3% of the expected goals when Ennis was on the ice at five-on-five, according to Natural Stat Trick.
Edmonton acquired Ennis in a deadline deal with the Ottawa Senators last season. He finished the campaign with 16 goals and 37 points in 70 games split between the two clubs.
The Edmonton, Alberta native signed a one-year, $1-million contract with the Oilers this past offseason.
