DAMINT; title is WRONG. And title editing is disallowed.

CORRECTED TITLE: Slackware 64 Current: Network Manager and lid open: works in August Slackware, not January Slackware

I've been running a version of Slackware 64 Current that I'd installed in August. Did a fresh install yesterday.

Ran January Slackware. Network manager was online, OK. Closed lid. Opened lid. No network. Waited. Still no network. The nm-applet in the tray informed me that the network was "disabled." I clicked the "enable network" check box. I was ignored.

Rebooted to August Slackware. Did the same thing. Network Manager, without me needing to do anything, got back online in under a minute.

So, being that, in both cases, all I ever did to set up networking was to tell the Slackware installer to use Network Manager, January Slackware should work as well as August Slackware, right? But it doesn't.

Any ideas please?
