Laptop with dual video cards question.

Hi all,
I have been looking into getting a new laptop to replace my aging 8460p. Most I am looking at come with discrete videos cards, but also come with intel or amd cards via the CPU. According to reviews you can disable one card over the other in the bios or leave it on hybrid. Assuming I disable the onboard and hybrid in the bios and keep the nvidia card only. Would I just install the nvidia drivers as usual, like I would on my desktop machine?
