Upgrading form Linux Ubuntu 16 to 18 getting stuck

This is just a vent.

I realize this is along shot but I am stuck.
I do not expect a solution, just asking for what this forum seems to do best - reasonable opinion(s).

The upgrading process stops after the last line is output.
Basically does no complete downloading / installing packages.

When I do another , plain "upgrade" I get suggestion to restart the process. It does restart and gets stuck in same place.

As far as I can tell - why is the process even working on "112" ?
To me it apparently does not exist anywhere.

PS
I will try to post this on Ubuntu forum - if I can copy this and save it.
The upgrade failure is happening right now and I have no idea what else is broken.
