Students at Hamilton public schools to get shortened day Friday

Students at Hamilton public schools will get somewhat of a shortened day Friday as teachers prep classrooms for the restart of in-person learning next week.
The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board says elementary school instructors will teach for just the first 100 minutes of the day Friday, while high school educators will teach for just the first two periods. Students will learn independently for the remainder of the afternoon.
Spokesperson Shawn McKillop said the change in schedule will lend teachers the time to adequately prepare classrooms for students' return on Monday.
