Hamilton PSW wins $500K dropping the chip with Instant Plinko

Florence Kalu thought it was a joke" when she was told that her $5 Instant Plinko scratch ticket was a winner.

The win meant a trip into the OLG Prize Centre in Toronto for the 49-year-old personal support worker from Hamilton. There she got to drop the Plinko chip on the game board to win a guaranteed prize from $100,000 to $500,000.

The OLG said in a press release that the win is the very first $500,000 top prize ever won in Instant Plinko.

Grateful for her win, even before dropping the chip, Kalu's calm demeanour was shattered when the chip bounced its way into the top prize slot of $500,000.

I was screaming, cheering and rolling on the floor! I will never forget this moment. I'm still in shock," she said.

When asked what she was going to do first Kalu replied, I'm going to go home and sit down for a second."

She told the OLG that she had plans to rest her mind" before making any decisions but that this money will change her life.

I intend to give back and change the lives of others," she said.

The winning ticket was purchased at Blue Willow Variety & Communication on Upper James Street in Hamilton.
