slackware64-current DVD.iso install does not save efi data.

I have no trouble installing slackware64-current nov-10-2020-DVD.iso. After the install I do not reboot but I exit to a shell. There efibootmgr shows the new entry for GPT 1 ..... /EFI/Slackware/elilo.efi. After I reboot I crash with L 99 99 99 on the screen. I reboot using system-rescue, and tell it to use UEFI. Once in a shell, efibootmgr shows that there is no new entry for the GPT 1 entry. Instead, I have the old boot entry for a lilo installation.

I don't think the new entry is loaded.
