WoL not working after restoring physical power

Hi everybody!

WoL is working fine on my machine. I am able to shutdown and start up the machine as expected.
However after powering off the machine and then switching off the physical power plug and switching it back on the following day the WoL function does not work. I have to press the power power button manually to start the machine and once it starts up the WoL function works perfectly without any other intervention or configuration changes.
I have tried to research this extensively on the internet but perhaps I have missed something.
