Tarasenko joins teammates on ice at practice

St. Louis Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko joined his teammates on the ice in a limited capacity at practice Friday.

The 29-year-old underwent the third shoulder surgery of his career in August and was reportedly being re-evaluated in five months.

Earlier in February, general manager Doug Armstrong indicated Tarasenko was doing well in his recovery and getting closer to returning.

"The shoulder is not 100%, but it's at a point where the safety mechanisms are in place," Armstrong said on Feb. 3, according to The Athletic's Jeremy Rutherford. "He can skate, receive passes, make passes, and shoot to a level of his comfort. He's still a ways away. We won't see him for a number of weeks, but he's on the right track."

Tarasenko led the Blues in goals for five straight seasons prior to the 2019-20 campaign when he was limited to 10 games after having shoulder surgery. The sniper rejoined the club during the league's return to play over the summer but appeared in just four contests before re-aggravating his shoulder, resulting in the most recent surgery.
