qemu kvm on slackware current, any advice?
by phalange from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5E8Y7)
I've examined the slackdoc on Qemu, but dated 2015 it's pretty old now.
I ran qemu years ago and was always impressed with the speed. I switched to VBox out of convenience: I had trouble sharing usb devices in Qemu for example. Also sharing a guest/host folder was not easy in Qemu as I recall.
Anyway, I'd like to go back to Qemu in Slack -current. I see that VirtManager is really out of date on slackbuilds.org, which I don't like.
- Can I just skip VirtManager completely and run Qemu cli only?
- KVM is included as a kernel module, yes? (again, I'm on -current)
- Do you have any recommended learning resources or guides?
- Tips?
Thanks Qemu users.
