Printer setup - "Stopped - filter failed"
by kodkod from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5EAJX)
Hi,
I've tried a lot to try to get my printer working, but I really give up. I don't know how to do it. I've read a lot of messages with suggestions, and I wish I remember everything that I've tried, but nothing has worked.
I have an HP LaserJetP1102w. It used to work. I used to always run non-current releases of Slackware, and I have not had any issues. A long time has past since the last official release, and I really wanted to have something more current. I ended up installing a current version (don't recall what date that was - maybe it was a year or so ago?). My printer still worked fine. In any case, I have since tried installing a more current version of Slackware current. Everything else works fine in the current release, but I cannot figure out how to get the printer to work.
I'd like to "start all over" at the beginning as if I have not tried anything. Any suggestions? All I get is the following when I try to print: stopped "Filter failed"
