Overnight shooting in Hamilton’s east end

Hamilton police are investigating a shooting in the city's east end.

In a Saturday release, police say they responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Greenhill Avenue and Vienna Street at 9 p.m. Friday.

They have not found any victims, nor have any injuries been reported.

Police are asking residents in the neighbourhood to check surveillance camera footage for suspicious activity.

The area includes the Hamilton police's Stoney Creek station, St. Joseph's Healthcare's King Campus and Father Sean O'Sullivan Memorial Park.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police's division 20 detective office at 905-546-2929.

People can also provide information anonymously by calling Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or submitting a tip online at crimestoppershamilton.com.
