LFS in a VM (qemu/virt-manager) - Building and installing spice-vdagent

Hi all.

I was wondering if there's anyone here with experience in this area. I've successfully (to the best of my knowledge) built and installed spice-vdagent version 0.21 using the PKGBUILD from Arch as a template, but I get lots of errors (journalctl -b | grep spice):

Code:Feb 26 14:00:58 lfs systemd[1]: Listening on Activation socket for spice guest agent daemon.
Feb 26 14:00:59 lfs systemd[295]: Not generating service for XDG autostart app-spice\x2dvdagent-autostart.service, startup phases are not supported.
Feb 26 14:00:55 lfs systemd[344]: Not generating service for XDG autostart app-spice\x2dvdagent-autostart.service, startup phases are not supported.
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagent[663]: vdagent started
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagent[663]: display: failed to call GetCurrentState from mutter over DBUS
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagent[663]: error message: Cannot invoke method; proxy is for the well-known name org.gnome.Mutter.DisplayConfig without an owner, and proxy was constructed with the G_DBUS_PROXY_FLAGS_DO_NOT_AUTO_START flag
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagent[663]: No guest output map, using output index as display id
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagent[663]: No guest output map, using output index as display id
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagent[663]: No guest output map, using output index as display id
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagent[663]: No guest output map, using output index as display id
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagentd[692]: open /dev/uinput: No such file or directory
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagentd[692]: Fatal uinput error
Feb 26 14:00:57 lfs spice-vdagentd[692]: vdagentd quitting, returning status 1Now it seems to my simple mind that it gets an error due to mutter not working (or some mutter/dbus combination), but I'm not running gnome, I'm on XFCE. To that end it's not surprising that anything that tries to rely on mutter will fail, but what is really going on here? Spice-vdagent does as far as I know don't have mutter as a dependency.

The VM is configured with a QXL GPU, also tried with Spice GPU to no effect.

I've spent a great amount of time on this and searches don't reveal much of interest as this seems to be somewhat niche. I would greatly appreciate any help!latest?d=yIl2AUoC8zA latest?i=onZrHSklb-k:Rx1ouQOkiJs:F7zBnMy latest?i=onZrHSklb-k:Rx1ouQOkiJs:V_sGLiP latest?d=qj6IDK7rITs latest?i=onZrHSklb-k:Rx1ouQOkiJs:gIN9vFwonZrHSklb-k
