KDE Panel Desktop/Activity Process Drag Error
by rnturn from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5ES0S)
Sorry about that title (best description I could think of).
Environment: two systems running openSUSE Leap 15.2 (one desktop and a laptop)
One nifty feature that I've used on KDE's panel over the years was being able to drag an application from one desktop to another by dragging its outline between Desktop Manager "windows". When I switched to using the KDE Activities feature, I was happy to learn that it was possible using the Activity Manager as well.
Or it used to be possible. At some point, on my desktop system, moving processes by dragging the outline from one activity to another stopped working. Now, right clicking on the titlebar and following the "Show in Activities..." menu is the only option. Four to five clicks later and you've accomplished what used to take only one.
I have recently re-installed Leap 15.2 on an old laptop and found that the dragging between activity windows works just fine. Apparently, something in a KDE config file on the desktop system has gotten corrupted or is, possibly, no longer compatible after a patch session.
Any ideas as to what config file I should be looking at? My plan is to compare it to the same file on the laptop which might indicate what has happened to break the drag operation and what I might be able to manually correct.
TIA...
