How exactly do you use Wine to run an MS program like WORDPAD?
by AnneF from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5F0C3)
Apparently Linux has NO editor that handles objects (images) well, like Wordpad, which puts images "in line" with the text, so they don't paste under/over text and other images and have to be messed with every time to try to get something legible.
I saw that in 2008, Wine had a "port"?? for Wordpad. Exactly HOW can I run Wordpad in Linux via Wine?
Why doesn't Linux have something that works as cleanly and as fast as Wordpad .rtf ??? Abiword is a joke compared to ease and speed of Wordpad for handling images. Everyone keeps suggesting text editors as a replacement, which don't handle images AT ALL, even poorly, like Abiword. Does Microsoft have a hundred-year patent or something on .rtf format?
Thanks,
AnneF
