Police investigating stabbing in central Hamilton home

A man in his 40s is in serious condition after he was stabbed several times in a central Hamilton home on Sunday afternoon, police say.

Staff Sgt. Brad Clark said officers responded to a home on Tisdale Street South, just off Main Street East and near Erie Avenue, at around 2:45 p.m. for reports of a stabbing.

The victim was sent to a local trauma centre with multiple stab wounds, said Hamilton Paramedic Supt. Dave Thompson. He remains in serious condition.

It's unclear if police have made any arrests.

Clark said detectives have processed the scene and were expected to clear from the area by Sunday night.
