Synaptic PM Search Returns No Results

Due to something or other I had to reinstall my Xubuntu 20.04 system today. After I'd reinstalled most of the things I needed via the Software store I reinstalled Synaptic via snap in order to be able to install things not available in the Ubuntu software store. But when I searched for those things (like GTK themes) I got no results. I then uninstalled that version and reinstalled via apt but the result was the same.
Does anyone know what the cause might be?
