The Dallas Cowboys restructured deals to three starting offensive linemen in order to get under the salary cap.

The franchise restructured the contracts of left tackle Tyron Smith, right guard Zack Martin, and right tackle La'el Collins in order to save $17 million toward the 2021 salary cap, ESPN's Todd Archer reports. Dallas was nearly $1 million under the cap prior to the moves.

The NFL set the 2021 cap at $182.5 million, a drop from $198.2 million in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Cowboys' long-term deal with quarterback Dak Prescott also helped the team's 2021 cap prospects. Instead of counting more than $37 million against the cap had he played under the franchise tag, Prescott's cap number is $22.2 million for the 2021 season.
