Brady's extension is reportedly a four-year pact that voids to one year. It locks him in through the 2022 season and saves the Bucs $19 million against the cap for 2021, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

It also allows Tampa Bay to convert a significant amount of the quarterback's 2021 salary into a signing bonus spread over a maximum of five years, The MMQB's Albert Breer reports.

The two sides expressed interest in prolonging their partnership after winning Super Bowl LV. Brady previously said he'd consider the possibility of playing past the age of 45.

Tampa Bay signed the former New England Patriots signal-caller to a two-year, $50-million deal last offseason. He threw for 40 touchdowns and 4,633 yards en route to his seventh championship.

The Buccaneers have prioritized re-signing their own players this offseason. Chris Godwin was given the franchise tag last week, while Lavonte David recently agreed to a two-year extension.

Pass-rusher Shaq Barrett and defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh are the Bucs' top remaining free agents.
