Former Seattle Seahawks cornerback Shaquill Griffin is headed to the Jacksonville Jaguars on a deal worth up to $44.5 million, his agency announced.

It's a three-year deal that includes $29 million guaranteed, a source told Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic.

Griffin was arguably the best young corner available in free agency. The 25-year-old entered the NFL as a third-round pick in 2017 and recorded double-digit pass breakups in three of his first four NFL campaigns.

The UCF product racked up 63 tackles and a career-high three interceptions through 12 games last season. He missed four games due to a hamstring injury.

Griffin is the Jaguars' latest addition in a busy first offseason for head coach Urban Meyer. The team also bolstered its secondary by reportedly signing safeties Rayshawn Jenkins and Rudy Ford and re-signing veteran corner Sidney Jones. They will join a group of defensive backs that also features 2020 first-round cornerback C.J. Henderson.

Opposing quarterbacks posted a passer rating of 105.6 and completed 69.4% of their pass attempts against the Jaguars last season, which put them 30th and 31st in the NFL, respectively.

The Jaguars also agreed to a two-year deal with veteran defensive tackle Tyson Alualu on Tuesday, his agent Kenny Zuckerman announced.

The 33-year-old, who played for the Jaguars from 2010-16 and spent the previous four seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers, will earn $6 million on his contract, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
