Titans add Jenkins to secondary after cutting Jackson
The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms with Janoris Jenkins, the veteran cornerback's agent told ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Jenkins will join the Titans after the cap-strapped New Orleans Saints terminated his contract. The 32-year-old previously suited up for the St. Louis Rams and New York Giants.
The Titans are looking to rebuild their secondary after releasing Adoree' Jackson earlier Tuesday and also cutting fellow cornerback Malcolm Butler and safety Kenny Vaccaro to begin the offseason.
Jenkins projects to inherit a starting role, at least for now. He thrived as the Saints' No. 2 cornerback last year, allowing a passer rating of 79 when targeted.
The Titans have focused their early offseason spending on defense, agreeing Monday to a big-money deal with former Pittsburgh Steelers sack artist Bud Dupree before picking up Jenkins. Tennessee ranked 28th in yards allowed and 25th in points allowed in 2020.
