[SOLVED] How to disable suspend when laptop lid is closed?
by drmozes from LinuxQuestions.org on (#5FGP6)
Hi!
I installed 32-bit x86 current on a laptop, and previously with the Linux 4.4 Kernel, when I closed the lid the machine would keep running - which is what I want since the machine's mainly for mounting USB storage and accessing the serial consoles of my ARM boards; so it's not going to overheat. There don't seem to be any options in the BIOS to control this behaviour.
It's an IBM Thinkpad x60 (ancient but works perfectly!).
With the latest Kernel (from Kernel package kernel-huge-smp-5.10.23) it suspends when I close the lid.
I thought that there were some kernel cmdline options to disable ACPI but I can't find what they were. The only articles I can find are old and concern how to _enable_ suspending.
Does anybody have any ideas, apart from rebuilding the Kernel without any of the power management stuff in it?
Cheers
s.
