Chargers pick up Cook after losing Henry
The Los Angeles Chargers have signed tight end Jared Cook, the team announced Thursday.
The two sides agreed to a one-year contract worth up to $6 million, ESPN's Adam Schefter reports.
Cook is Los Angeles' replacement option for Hunter Henry, who signed a three-year deal with the New England Patriots after five campaigns with the Bolts.
The soon-to-be 34-year-old spent the last two years with the New Orleans Saints, posting 80 receptions, 1,209 yards, and 16 touchdowns. Three of his four most productive seasons have come after his 30th birthday.
The Chargers will be Cook's sixth NFL team. The South Carolina product began his career with the Tennessee Titans before spending time with the Rams, Packers, Raiders, and Saints.
